Promoting Migration Management in Georgia through Research-based Advocacy, Awareness, Networking and Use of Technologies 16.05.2017

Objective #1:

Permanent research, helping the state and CSO community in developing the evidence-based policies and interventions.

Main Activities:


• Framework quantitative and qualitative research on key migration related issues;
• Creation and development of the pool of migration researchers;
• Public/stakeholder discussions and advocacy on research-based recommendations;
• Connecting various diverse actors, for multi-dimensional and comprehensive situational analysis in migration; Objective

Objective#2:


Empower migrants with knowledge to increase their resistance against migration risks; improve capacities of the migration influencers in migration management;

• Improvement of migration management at the self-governance level, through strengthening the skills of municipality representatives by conducting various training programs;
• Strengthening the skills of CSO representatives through needs-based training programs for the development of advocacy on migration issues;
• Raising awareness of illegal migration risk groups and their influencers, on migration-related issues.

Objective #3: Networking for creation of new partnerships/opportunities for migration and development, boosting socio-economic potential of migrants.


• Raising awareness of illegal migration risk groups on financial, legal and other strategic issues;
• Creating strategic investment mechanism for, on the one hand, reducing poverty-driven illegal migration and on another hand, for creating secure environment and thus reliable investment environment;
• Promoting participatory approach in migration policy planning, through involving migrants.

Objective #4: creating innovative tools for boosting capacity of migration management

• Creation of an online education resource for Georgia’s diplomatic representations abroad and for effective analysis of trafficking
