On December 1th student debates were held in the Center for Civic Engagement in Batumi. Students debated over the topics: risks related to decentralization in Georgia and options for direct elections of city mayors. Team from Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University won the debates. Finalists were awarded with special prizes while all participants received diplomas. A student debate was organized by Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development/CIPDD in the framework of the project: Civil Society for Development: Decentralization and Participation in Georgia, with the financial support of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
