CIPDD Discussion: Quality assurance system in general education |
Reform of the general education system in Georgia is being carried out in several directions. Apart from transparency and democratization of the system and the accessibility of education, one of the main vectors is improvement of the education quality. There are a number of problems in the quality assurance of the education. There is no consensus in the society regarding the questions, such as: what is the quality of education; what defines the education quality; who is responsible on quality of education; and what are the results of the quality of education. Also, there is a lack of specific strategy on how, in what time and using which tools to improve the education quality. The supporting infrastructure needed for improving of the quality results in schools is inadequate. Mutual responsibilities of schools and the state are not oriented on tangible outcomes.
On November 11 CIPDD organized the discussion about the quality assurance system. Venue: CIPDD office
